Abstract: 

Background and Objective: Responsiveness is one of the important properties of health-related questionnaires in demonstrating the changes in a patient's clinical conditions before and after therapy. The present study was carried out with the aim of assessing the responsiveness of the Western Ontario Meniscal Evaluation TOOL (WOMET) and determining its minimal clinically important difference in patients undergoing physical therapy interventions after meniscus injuries. Methods: This cross-sectional methodological study was performed on 100 patients aged 18-70 years with meniscus injuries who underwent physical therapy interventions. Patients completed WOMET and Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) questionnaires in the first and tenth sessions. The minimum score obtained from the WOMET questionnaire was zero and the maximum was 1600, and the minimum score obtained from the KOOS questionnaire was zero and the maximum was 168. Internal and external responsiveness were the primary outcomes, and effect size tests, ROC curves, and correlation coefficients were used to examine them. The relationship between the WOMET and KOOS questionnaires were considered as secondary outcomes, which were evaluated by calculating the correlation coefficient. Findings: The results of internal responsiveness showed that the standardized response mean for the entire WOMET questionnaire was 0.11 (insignificant) and Cohen's d score for the entire WOMET questionnaire was -1.586 (large). The difference in the mean internal responsiveness between recovered (20%) and unrecovered (80%) patients reached a significant level (p<0.001). This questionnaire had an acceptable external responsiveness; the area under the curve of the ROC curve was greater and equal to 0.7 and the optimal cut-off point was 20.031 (p<0.001). The Pearson correlation coefficient between WOMET and KOOS questionnaires (except the emotions subscale) was moderate to large (0.5-0.8) with p<0.001. Conclusion: The findings of the study showed that the Persian version of the WOMET questionnaire has a high level of responsiveness and is a suitable TOOL for evaluating the quality of life among patients suffering from meniscus injury.

Abstract: 

In the electric discharge machining process, the material is separated from the surface of the work piece by an electric spark, and in the presence of the dielectric material and TOOL ELECTRODE, changes are made on the surface of the work piece. In this project, we investigated the effect of dielectric material and brass TOOL ELECTRODE diffusion on the surface of carbon steel workpiece by means of quantmetric analysis, X-ray diffraction and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The effect of the parameters such as electric current intensity (I), pulse on time (ton), pulse off time (toff) and machining time (τ) on the composition of work peace, microstructure and electrochemical corrosion of machined work peace, were investigated. The results of quantmetric analysis showed that with the increase of machining parameters, the amount of diffused copper (from brass TOOL ELECTRODE) and carbon (from pyrolysis of flashing dielectric material) on the surface of machined carbon steel was increased. X-ray diffraction results confirmed that the formation of different phases such as Fe1.92C0.08, Cu4, Cu2 and Fe2 on the surface of workpiece, which was accordance with the quantmetric results. Electrochemical studies showed that during the EDM process, the electrochemical corrosion resistance was increased.

IN THIS STUDY, THREE DIFFERENT TOOLS INCLUDING CYLINDRICAL ROD, MICRO-DRILL AND MICRO-MILL WITH VARIOUS APPLIED VOLTAGES ARE EXAMINED AND THE ACHIEVED MACHINING SPEEDS AND THE RELEVANT PATTERNS DURING THE PROCESS ARE DISCUSSED. THE OBTAINED RESULTS SHOW THAT THE MICRO-DRILL HAS THE HIGHEST MRR IN DIFFERENT PROCESS CONDITIONS WHILE THE CYLINDRICAL ROD RESULTS IN THE WORST MACHINING SPEED BECAUSE OF ITS POOR ELECTROLYTE CIRCULATION EFFECTS. IN ADDITION TO THE TOOL SHAPE, INCREASE IN THE APPLIED VOLTAGE RESULTS IN INCREASE IN MRR IN THE CASE OF DIFFERENT TOOL SHAPES.

Abstract: 

IN THIS RESEARCH, TOW NEW LEAD ION SELECTIVE MEMBRANEPOTENTIOMETRIC SENSORS BASED ON BENZO-18-CROWN-6 AS NEUTRAL CARRIER IN POLY VINYL CHLORIDE[1] (PVC) MATRIX WAS FABRICATED BY TWO IMMOBILIZED LIQUID MEMBRANE AND COATED GRAPHITE FORMS. THE ELECTRODES SHOWS A LINEAR DYNAMIC RESPONSE IN THE CONCENTRATION RANGE OF 1.0´10-3-1.0´10-7M WITH A NERNSTIAN SLOPE OF 28.2±0.5 AND 30.0±0.5 MV PER DECADE AND A DETECTION LIMIT OF 1.6´10-7 M FOR IMMOBILIZED LIQUID MEMBRANE ELECTRODE AND1.1´10-7M FOR GRAPHIT COATED ELECTRODE. THE ELECTRODES SHOW A GOOD REPRODUCIBILITY AND HAVE A GOOD RESPONSE TIME OF 15 AND 5 S AND A LIFE TIME OF 9 AND 15 DAYS FOR IMMOBILIZED LIQUID MEMBRANE AND GRAPHIT COATED ELECTRODE RESPECTIVELY. THE BEST PERFORMANCE WAS OBTAINED WITH A MEMBRANE COMPOSITION OF 26.6% PVC, 68% DOP, 4.1% BENZO 18 CROWN-6 AND 0.91% SODIUM TETRAPHENYLBORATE FOR LIQUID MEMBRANE AND A MEMBRANE COMPOSITION OF 27% PVC, 70% DOP AND 2.7% BENZO 18-CROWN-6 AND 0.1% SODIUM TETRAPHENYLBORATE FOR GRAPHIT COATED ELECTROD. THE POTENTIOMETRIC RESPONSE OF THE PROPOSED ELECTRODES IS INDEPENDENT OF THE PH OF SOLUTION IN THE RANGE OF 3> PH >12 AND 4>PH >12 FOR LIQUID MEMBRANE AND COATED ELECTRODE RESPECTIVELY. THE BOTH OF ELECTRODE SHOWS GOOD SELECTIVITY (BASED ON MATCH POTENTIAL METHOD [2, 3]) TOWARDS LEAD AGAINST MOST OF THE TRANSITION AND COMMON ALKALI, ALKALINE EARTH METAL.

Abstract: 

Background: Medical errors represent a serious problem for intensive care and increase the length of stay and mortality. Tracking of medical errors in hospital have focused on voluntary reporting of errors, but 10 to 20 % of errors are ever reported and, of those, 90-95 percent cause no harm to patients. This study was conducted to recognition and analysis medical errors in Intensive Care Unit by GTT in 2019. Materials & Methods: This study was a retrospective descriptive-experimental and was conducted in the Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital in Tehran. In 2019 for 13 weeks, 127 records were separately reviewed by two nurses by using the IHI checklist and final confirmation was performed by the physician. The data were analyzed by SPSS 22 software. Results. 622 triggers, 277 adverse events related to triggers, 121 adverse events without trigger and totally 398 adverse events were identified in ICU. 93 records from 127 records had adverse events. The incidence rate of adverse events was 73/2%, 3/13 adverse events per patient and the incidence rate was 24/8 adverse events per 100 patients-day. The most frequency of events and harms were respectively related to care, intensive care, surgery and medication modules. Conclusion. According to the result of patient records reviewing and the high rate of AEs that required intervention and also the result of similar study, we can state this TOOL is more reliable than other methods to detect AEs, such as voluntary reporting of error.

PHOTOS TAKEN FROM THE SURFACE AND BOTTOM OF THE HOLES SHOW THAT WITH NAOH AS ELECTROLYTE OVERCUT IS LARGER AND PRECISION IS LOWER, ALSO THE BOTTOM SURFACE OF THE HOLES HAS A BETTER FINISH WHICH IS DUE TO THE SUPERIOR ETCHING OF KOH.

Abstract: 

Research on environmentally friendly energy storage devices is a necessary solution to solve the energy crisis and environmental pollution caused by it. A major challenge for superbarriers is to introduce cost-effective, stable and suitable ELECTRODE nanomaterials for further industrialization of these TOOLs. For this purpose, in this research, a polyaniline ELECTRODE using a nickel foam substrate for use in supercapacitors was made. Using X-ray diffraction analysis, the crystal structure was studied and its surface morphology was examined using a scanning electron microscope. In addition, Idex mapping analysis showed the elements on the surface and how they are distributed. Investigations of current-voltage cycles were performed at different scanning speeds. The fabricated ELECTRODE showed faradaic behaviour with electron transfer. In addition, the electrochemical resistance was investigated using electrochemical impedance analysis, and the resistance due to charge transfer was found to be approximately 1.2 ohms. Finally, electrochemical investigations showed a specific capacity of 1100 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g.
